New Music: Drake - Draft Day (#FryMan Part Duex?)

Drizzy enlists the sample of a Lauryn Hill classic ("Doo Wop, That Thing") for his latest tune "Draft Day". While drops love for Johnny Manziel and Jennifer Lawrence and blows off Chance the Rapper's stage name as an indicator of lack of confidence, people can pin point whether or not he's firing back at Jay-Z or not.

A couple verses stood out for us though:

  • "Just hits, no misses that's for the married folk| I heard they talking crazy, I was out of town, you know they love to pop all that sh*t when I'm not around."
    • This could be in reference to the "Mrs. Drizzy" name calling and the timing of when Jay dropped the freestyle towards the end of Drake's WYLAT euro trip.
  • "Oh wait sidebar, left some beat at the end. So that all of you f*ck n***as could loop it and get your lies off."
    • Perhaps another reference to Jigga man using his beat to diss him.

I'm thinking Drake decided to sub his way through this, which is pretty strategic. By standing his ground against a rap GOD; he titan-ed his way through this basically making Jigga seem cowardlike.

But you be the judge... listen below:
