Is Pale Foundation the New Makeup the New Trend?

Over the weekend Miley Cyrus turned up for her 21st birthday with her friends Teyana Taylor and a very light version of Lil Kim.

But what was even more freaky was Kim's look in London Almost white as snow, perhaps even lighter than Miley, Lil Kim was photographed on stage with a very pale face compared to the rest of her skin.

Its no secret that Lil Kim has been accused of bleaching, but whether that's true or not, the makeup she's been sporting as of late is 10 shades lighter than the rest of her skin; and she's not the only one.

Well at least Nicki Blended the rest of her body with the foundation. lol

Amongst many, Sevyn Streeter is the latest offender. But we believe it may just be a matter of her makeup artist not blending correctly. However, the real question is: is this a new trend in makeup? Are women of color being told to wear lighter foundation to "brighten their look". There was a bronzing trend that women favored not too long ago that gave them that "sunkissed look"; so perhaps this is the new wave. But is it a matter of lightening the skin to look brighter and younger, or is this trend to make us want to be whiter?

Well as the beautifully chocolate sister India Irie was quoted saying during her recent interview with Oprah, "I wanted my skin to glow and be luminous, not light." Perhaps we're looking into this too deeply.
